Railroad Square in Tallahassee has lots to entertain everyone!
Whenever we have a couple of hours to hang out in Tallahassee, we always seem to find ourselves in Railroad Square. There is so much to love here. Whether you stop for a bite, need a special outfit for a function, or want to tour the art, they have local businesses to meet your needs.
What was once WWII-era warehouses has become a lively and vibrant community with galleries, shops, live music, and food. Most businesses are open Wednesday through Sunday, and the best time to visit is for the First Friday Monthly Festival. This is held the first Friday of every month, and the falls are the busiest times of the year.
If you want to support local artists, Railroad Square is the place to go. Plan to come experience a variety and unique shops and experiences you cannot find anywhere else in Tallahassee. You will find one of the best vintage shops, thrift and antique stores. There are two art galleries, a hands-on learning and resource center for those on the spectrum, a non-profit theater, an authentic pinball arcade, and a virtual reality experience where you can kill zombies or become an elf. We haven’t even mentioned the restaurants serving local food and beer.
Read more about Railroad Square here and here. By the way, some of my photos are from the summer of 2022. The skate park has been finished and it fantastic. We will grab more photos next time we are in that area.
